2. Seborrhoeic dermatitis
Seborrhoeic dermatitis, or seborrhoeic eczema, is an inflammation of the skin. Around where the sebaceous glands (glands that produce an oily substance, sebum) are located (primarily in the head and groin).
When these glands produce too much oil, the result is red and flaking skin.
There is no cure for seborrhoeic dermatitis. To treat this condition, you can use a shampoo that contains coal tar, zinc pyrithione or selenium sulphate.
Other treatments include topical corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone.
